Wild Bill Days 2024

Celebrate the life and times of Deadwood’s most famous gunslinger—Wild Bill Hickok at Wild Bill Days. See your favorite bands perform live concerts on Main Street all weekend long. Outlaw Square will host a free kick-off concert on Thursday, June 13. The music moves to Main Street on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15.
Along with the awesome free concerts, you can also check out the National Dock Dogs Competition, watch (or participate in) a classic car auction, learn the tricks of gold panning and sluicing from Northern Hills Prospectors, right on Main Street!

Badlands Astronomy Festival

The Annual Badlands Astronomy Festival brings together space science professionals, amateur astronomers, educators, youth groups, South Dakota residents and visitors for a "stellar experience". Celebrate the beauty of a dark night sky and the wonder of space exploration. Novices and experts alike will enjoy daily family-friendly activities and evening presentations with special guest speakers. Nightly telescope viewing will be sponsored by the NPS Night Sky Program and Celestron.
This three-day celebration at Badlands National Park will support the continued protection and enjoyment of our incredible night skies as a precious natural resource. The festival will focus on active engagement in resource education programs and hands-on experiences. Astronomy Festival events do not require advance registration or tickets. Please just drop by.

Gift from Mother Earth Art Show at Crazy Horse Memorial

Crazy Horse Memorial® celebrates the arts and crafts that are melding Native American cultures and the New West.
During the three days of the Gift From Mother Earth, over 20 exhibitors showcase and sell a wide variety of artwork. Booths open at 8 am all three days.
Awards are given in several art categories. Visitors also enjoy American Indian performers.
In 2023, Crazy Horse Memorial® l is partnering with Hill City Arts Council to present Small Towns Big Art! The two shows, Fine Arts in the Hills (off of Main Street, Hill City, under the big tent) and Gift From Mother Earth (in the galleries of The Indian Museum of North America®), feature over 40 artists from around the continent. Visit both on Saturday or Sunday and enter into a raffle for a dinner and a trip to the top of the Mountain for 4!
