Horse Camps

There are many horse camps throughout the region. Some very nice and some bare-bones. All offer a relaxing place to settle down with your horse after a day of riding. These campsites are designed specifically for horse campers, offering trailer parking, corrals, water and electricity. A few offer group camping areas - Just call and ask!

Know Before You Go

Certified weed-free hay is encouraged on all state park equestrian trails and campgrounds. It is required in Custer State Park, at equestrian campgrounds and at the horse camps at Sheps Canyon and Bear Butte. Have your horse’s travel papers in order. Make sure their Coggin’s and Health Certificate are up-to-date.
