Are you passionate about creating engaging social media content and driving impactful communications strategies? Black Hills & Badlands Tourism Association (BH&B) is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media & Communications Specialist to join our team in Rapid City.
At BH&B, we’re dedicated to promoting the Black Hills and Badlands as a premier travel destination. This role plays a key part in sharing our region’s story and supporting our members through compelling digital and editorial content.
Key Responsibilities
As the Communications & Social Media Specialist, you will:
- Develop and execute a dynamic social media strategy across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
- Create compelling content (written, visual, and video) to engage and grow our audience while maintaining our brand voice.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize social media performance using AI tools and analytics platforms.
- Craft engaging content for web, email, blogs, and print materials.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging with organizational goals and campaigns.
- Utilize AI-driven tools to enhance content creation, SEO optimization, and audience engagement.
- Write press releases, email campaigns, and other external communications for both consumers and industry partners.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a strong communicator who brings creativity, attention to detail, and a thoughtful approach to storytelling and content creation.
- Experience: Proven experience in social media management, communications, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop) and AI tools for content creation and analytics.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with SEO best practices, email marketing platforms, and AP Style guidelines.
- Characteristics: A professional, detail-oriented, and adaptable individual with a passion for learning and innovation.
