Experience the iconic Buffalo Roundup at Custer State Park's annual event. Held each September, visitors can witness the park's herd of approximately 1,500 bison being corralled by cowboys and cowgirls on horseback. The weekend also features the Buffalo Roundup Arts Festival, showcasing over 150 vendors with fine art, crafts, and food.

Buffalo Roundup

Experience the excitement and tradition of the Old West as you watch cowboys and cowgirls corral the park's bison herd, followed by the annual branding and sorting of the animals. From behind the safety of the viewing area, witness the thunderous sound, dust, and spectacle of the classic Western event.

Arts Festival

Browse through over 150 vendors offering fine art, crafts, and unique Western-style food. Meet the artists and crafters and learn about their materials and techniques, making a purchase or two to take home as a memento of your Black Hills and Badlands visit.
