The Black Hills Powwow, held annually in Rapid City, South Dakota, brings together Native American dancers, singers, artisans, and visitors from across the world to celebrate and honor the traditions of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota people. Join us for a weekend of cultural immersion, and experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of the traditional Powwow.

Grand Entry and Dance Competition

Witness the pageantry of the Grand Entry, where dancers in full regalia enter the arena in a stunning display of color, sound, and movement. Then, watch as dancers of all ages and styles compete in dance competitions, showcasing their skill and passion for the art form.

Artisans and Vendors

Browse through the vendor booths to find unique Native American arts and crafts, jewelry, clothing, and more. Meet the artisans and learn about the history and significance of their crafts.

Taste

Sample traditional foods such as fry bread, Indian tacos, wild rice soup, and buffalo burgers, and experience the rich flavors and spices of Native American cuisine.
