  • Mahkoche Kin: The Land
Event Date:
Friday, August 26, 2022 - 12:00am
Venue:
Crazy Horse Memorial

Hosted by our Museum Team and lead by culture bearer, artist, performer, and Oglala Lakota College Faculty Member, Darrell Red Cloud, the program will teach visitors about the history and the importance of this land we call the Black Hills.

Attendees will have the chance to get “just a little off the beaten path,” see the Crazy Horse Memorial® through a Native perspective, and leave enriched by the cultural knowledge of this land held by the Lakota people.

This program consists of a short and easy to moderate One Hour outdoor walk, with three ‘stops’ or stations along the route for educational presentations and immersive activities lead by Darrell Red Cloud and Museum Staff. This program is outdoors, and while it is on rough terrain is not a traditional hike, but will consist of some mildly strenuous, uneven terrain path.

Sign-ups for these programs will happen the DAY OF each program so be sure and visit Crazy Horse Memorial® those days to take part. Spots are limited, so be sure to visit that day to get your spot.
