While visiting Custer State Park for the Festival of Trees take part in our geocaching ornament event. Using geocaching skills, locate parts of an ornament that you will need to build your very own bison ornament at the visitor center! Start by checking in with staff at the visitor center to get signed up and your starting materials. Then using GPS location travel around the outside of the visitor center to pinpoint each cache using our coordinates and hints. Once all your building components are found return to the visitor center to put together your ornament!

GPS units will be required, cell phones are encouraged to be used but we will have a few GPS units available for check out at the visitor center. Come prepared to be searching outdoors in the weather.

This geocaching event will occur simultaneously with the Festival of Trees (Dec 1st-Jan 1st). Ornaments will only be able to be constructed while the Visitor Center is open (daily from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.). Limited one ornament per participant.

There is no fee to participate, however, a park entrance license is required to enter the park and may be purchased at the Park Office from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. during the week, or at the Visitor Center which is open 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In observance of the holidays the Visitor Center will be closed Christmas Day.
