The Black Hills Visitor Information Center in Rapid City welcomes you with an array of free services like expert trip planning,  free maps, brochures and travel guides all designed to smooth your way and max your vacation fun in the Black Hills and Badlands.

Keeping Everyone Safe

For everyone's safety, the Black Hills Visitor Information Center is following the CDC's guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting our facility. We are encouraging our guests to wear a cloth face cover while inside our building. Staff will also wear a face covering as they assist our guests. We are practicing social distancing of at least SIX FEET apart between staff and guests. We are also asking guests to limit the number of people in their party that enters our building.

Floor stickers have been placed to guide guests of the proper distance. Plexi glass dividers are being used on our counters to act as an additional safety measure. We ask all staff and guests to wash their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. When you enter our building, we also have hand sanitizer available for our guests and staff to use.

If you are coughing, have a fever or are experiencing flu like symptoms, we ask that you do not visit the Black Hills Visitor Information Center. Workers have been informed of, and encouraged, to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. We ask that they do not come to work if they or someone they live with has a cough, fever, or other flu like symptoms.

Social Distancing and More

In addition to asking guests to limit the amount of people in their group when they enter the VIC and maintaining a safe distance of 6 feet from other visitors, we have benches and picnic tables outdoors for guests to use during their stop. We also have a large parking area and wide open spaces for everyone to take a moment, take in some fresh air and stretch their legs.

If you follow these guidelines during your trip to the Black Hills Visitor Information Center and local businesses, you should have minimal safety concerns.
