The holiday spirit is thriving in the Black Hills and Badlands for the month of December!  With miles of lights, parades, ugly sweater parties and New years countdowns, December in the region is sure to be full of winter wonder. We’re officially in snow season, but the backdrop is perfect for these fantastic holiday events.

Christmas Nights of Light

Storybook Island is transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland. Filled with lights and Christmas cheer. $2.00 per person, 5:30pm to 8:30pm every night we are open, Santa in the park every night thru December 23rd. Enjoy a nice hot cup of cocoa, or cider while strolling through the park.

The 29th annual parade of lights signals the kick-off of the Holiday season in the Southern Hills. After the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus appear at Way Park for the Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony. The parade will begin at 8th and Mt. Rushmore Road and end at Way Park on 4th and Mt.
