School buses are on the street and backpacks are full as we transition from the summer into fall once again—the time for festivals, pumpkins, buffalo roundups, classic hot rods and more! Dig out your fuzziest sweaters from your closet and find spectacular fall events in the Black Hills and Badlands this September. 

Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup & Arts Festival
Thursday, September 24, 2020 (All day) to Saturday, September 26, 2020 (All day)

Feel the thunder and join the herd at the annual Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup. Watch cowboys and cowgirls as they roundup and drive the herd of approximately 1,400 buffalo (number of animals vary depending on rangeland conditions) to the corrals.

Car Shows

Studebakers, bikes and hot rods will be shined up and lined up in September for visitors and gearheads to admire. Food, cars, music and a community of people to share it with—stop by and see it all!

Members of the Dakotas Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club from five states will soon be meeting in Custer, SD, for a weekend of cruising and showing off their cars. On Sunday, September 1, owners will display their cars and trucks on 6th Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mount Rushmore Half Marathon
