Ghosts, ghouls, and goblins descend on the Black Hills at the end of October as the Halloween spirit fills the crisp air. As the werewolves, vampires, and princesses come out to play, the Black Hills rolls out the red carpet for guests looking for a ghostly good time. From spine-tingling haunted houses to friendly trick-or-treating events in the land of fairy tales, there is an event for everyone this Halloween. Paranormal Investigation Tours of the Adams House in Deadwood | Oct. 5-6, 12-13, & 19-20
Take a paranormal investigation tour of one of Deadwood’s most haunted places. Ninety-minute tours of the historic Adams House will include the use of night vision cameras, full spectrum cameras, digital audio recorders, parascopes, Ovilus, and EMF meters. Enter if you dare!

Haunting of Keystone | Oct. 13-15, 19-20, & 26-28
Venture to Keystone, if you dare! Four different frights are available at this annual haunting: Phobia at the Keystone Schoolhouse Museum, Torture at Big Thunder Gold Mine, Panic at Big Thunder Forest, and Cavernous at Rushmore Cave.

Haunted ATV Rides in Lead | Oct. 19-20
Join the team from M&L ATV Rental as they take you on a haunted tour of the Black Hills from atop their ATVs. 

Deadweird in Deadwood | Oct. 26
Deadwood’s annual Halloween bash kicks off Friday night and goes through Saturday. Festivities include a Monster Ball, a Costume Contest, and open container throughout Deadwood on Friday and Saturday evening.

Halloween Boo Bash in Rapid City | Oct. 27
Black Hills Contraband is throwing the party of all parties for the adults to enjoy. Stop by for dancing, a DJ, karaoke, games, and a costume contest. Come, and enjoy some of the Black Hills’ finest flavored liqueur and enjoy a night of ghoulish fun!

Trick-or-Treat Events
Hill City Merchant Trick-or-Treat | Oct. 26
Take a stroll through downtown Hill City and do some trick-or-treating at area businesses, ending the night at the Halloween Carnival at the Boys and Girls Club. 

Scare in the Square in Rapid City | Oct. 27
Rapid City throws its annual bash at Main Street Square with downtown trick-or-treating for the kids and fun activities for the whole family.

Safe N Sweet Trick N Treat in Rapid City | Oct. 27
Storybook Island offers a safe and fun place for the little ones looking to enjoy Halloween.

Custer’s Merchant Trick-or-Treat | Oct. 31
Kids are invited to participate in downtown trick-or-treating with participating businesses.

Halloween Spooktacular in Belle Fourche | Oct. 31
Celebrate the holiday with indoor trick-or-treating at this community event.

Amanda is a Colorado native who made the Black Hills her home in 2010 when she moved to Spearfish after college. She attended college in Colorado and acquired a degree in Mass Communications from Colorado Mesa University. After a few years living in Spearfish she moved to Rapid City, which she has called her home ever since. Amanda and her husband enjoy taking motorcycle rides through the Black Hills, touring the area breweries, going on hikes with their dog, Ginny, and enjoying all that the Black Hills have to offer.
