Looking for a fun activity to help get your kids into the Christmas spirit? Children in grades K-6 are invited to enjoy some holiday cheer with Deadwood History’s Festive Fridays on December 8 and 15, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Students are invited to gather together to celebrate the holidays and age-old traditions.  Participants will make ornaments, Christmas trees, and stockings.

These nights of festive events will feature good company and a variety of holiday crafts and projects. On December 8, participants will explore the tradition behind Christmas trees. Youth will create a pine cone tree and make Christmas cards to take home.  During the final Festive Friday on December 15, students will discover the story of stockings, make their own stocking, and take home a stocking stuffer gift.

Festive Fridays will be held at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center (HARCC), located at 150 Sherman Street, in Deadwood.  Cost per program is $6 for museum members and $11 for non-members. Light refreshments will be served.  Please call Amanda or Tera at (605) 578-1657 for reservations or more information.

These events are co-sponsored by Deadwood History, Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, Adams-Mastrovich Family Foundation, Bill Haas, The William Karl and Laura L. Haas Educational Endowment, Spearfish Chamber, Saloon No. 10, and The Walter and Francis Green Trust.
