2021 Black Hills Travel Rally Day Recap

  • 2021 Black Hills Travel Rally Day Recap

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Travel Rally Day, part of National Travel & Tourism Week, Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at The Monument (formerly the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center). It was great to reconnect and kick off the upcoming peak travel season.

Events included a Travel Rally Day Breakfast hosted by Visit Rapid City and a Spring Hospitality Training hosted by the South Dakota Department of Tourism, followed by BH&B's Parks & Attractions Meeting and the 38th annual Literature Swap.

The Park & Attractions Meeting was an opportunity to share important information, news and updates before the peak season. There were 83 people from 66 businesses in attendance, representing area chambers and DMOs, our National Park Services, South Dakota State Parks, the SDT, BH&B, area attractions and other organizations throughout the region. We hope you use the information from the meeting to cross-promote each other, ultimately encouraging visitors to extend their stay in our region. Read the recap here.

During Lit Swap, over 149 people from 103 businesses distributed their visitor industry brochures and magazines in bulk to all five South Dakota Welcome Centers. They exchanged their marketing materials and networked with other regional tourism industry businesses. Thank you to our sponsors, Simpsons Printing and Road Runner, Inc.

Attendees visited BH&B's Corporate Partners' booths, part of the  Business-to-Business Mingle & Mix, where they entered to win door prizes while seeing how our corporate partners’ products and services could benefit their business.
