2019 Travel Trade Show Recap | Black Hills & Badlands - South Dakota

2019 Travel Trade Show Recap

  • 2019 Travel Trade Show Recap

We recently concluded a great season of promoting the Black Hills and Badlands region to domestic and international travel professionals at IPW in Anaheim, California.

This year, BH&B attended two domestic tour operator shows on behalf of our members—American Bus Association (ABA) and the National Tour Association (NTA). BH&B met with nearly 100 tour operators at these two shows. BH&B and other South Dakota suppliers cooperatively partnered on a trade show booth at ABA, bringing in the Mount Rushmore Mascots to entice interest in the area. The sponsorship and marketplace meetings were successful and garnered a great deal of attention from tour operators that bring motorcoach tours to the region.

Our international travel trade efforts included Go West Summit, International Roundup (IRU), hosted in Spearfish, and IPW. BH&B had appointments with approximately 80 operators at the more intimate shows, RTO and IRU. IPW, the leading international inbound travel trade show in the U.S., brought in international operators from around the world. Partners from the Black Hills and across the state promoted the area to over 100 international planners and media outlets.

All of the shows offered BH&B the opportunity to promote the region, our communities and our members to qualified travel professionals who are interested in creating a new product, expanding product or updating product in the Black Hills and Badlands. After attending each show, BH&B staff compiled the appointment notes with any pertinent information and distributed them to BH&B members.

BH&B offers many opportunities to promote your business to these travel trade professionals, including the Group Tour Co-op, the International Profile Sheet and Post Card Blitz. To learn more, please contact your regional sales director by calling 605-355-3600 today.
