The Black Hills and Badlands tourism industry saw continued growth in 2018. We’re excited to build off last year’s success and partner with SD Department of Tourism in their valuable co-op marketing program again.

We invest our dollars in the peak co-op campaign because it’s vital to our marketing efforts. It amplifies our reach, puts our member businesses in front of larger audiences, and increases brand awareness. All while inspiring travel to the Black Hills and Badlands region.

The campaign is part of our robust year-round marketing campaign. It kicks off mid-March and is set to run through the end of August.

Our strategic media mix includes many familiar tactics—our member-driven direct mail co-op, engaging digital and social ads, and inspiring cable and connected TV spots. This year, we’re adding internet radio to the mix. The new component provides exposure through the popular music-streaming platform, Pandora.

We’re also excited to work with Midwest Living on a full-page back cover ad in their March/April issue, just ahead of the peak season. This ad will see an impressive count of over 1.1 million impressions.

These efforts will work together to drive traffic to BlackHillsBadlands.com. Once on our site, visitors can easily discover member businesses and connect with them or get more information.

Additionally, we will be launching new niche landing pages that reinforce our co-op campaign messaging. Members will have the opportunity to buy additional exposure through these pages, which will put their businesses in front of highly qualified audiences. We look forward to developing and implementing this program. Stay tuned for more information to participate in this targeted advertising program soon.

We’re excited to see this marketing program inspire even more people to visit the Black Hills and Badlands. For more information, please contact Greg Valladolid, Vice President of Marketing, at greg@blackhillsbadlands.com or 605-355-3600.
