(605) 355-3600

With all numbers finally in from the 2015 calendar year, the Black Hills Tourism Index finished 11.35% up over a very good 2014.

2015 proved to be record breaking for many of the Black Hills' iconic places and events like Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Devils Tower National Monument, the Custer State Park Annual Buffalo Roundup, and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Every indicator that is factored into the index was up; some like National Park Recreational Visits and Taxable Sales were up 13.7% or more! This means 564,465 more recreational visitors attended the national parks in the Black Hills region, and millions and millions more dollars were derived from taxable sales—even with amazingly low gas prices.
