Angostura Activities and Programs
Interpretive Programs
Angostura Recreation Area hosts an array of interpretive and educational activities during the summer season. Programs are geared for families with young children and expose participants to the various natural and cultural features of the Black Hills. Programs are free to the general public and most are usually held at the Cascade and Horsehead Campgrounds. Program times are 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays May through August. Mid-week and evening programs are sometimes held at shelter houses.
Nature Day Camps are offered once a month for kids ages 7-12. These hands-on activities enhance learning opportunities for younger park visitors that have an interest in the outdoors. Each camp is different and features guided hikes.
