Site Hours & Fees
The Minuteman Missile National Historic Site park headquarters are open year round from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day . It is closed on weekends. The contact station is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There are currently no fees for ranger-guided tours at Minuteman Missile.
Tours are offered during the off-season at 10 a.m. daily. Memorial Day through Labor Day tours will be offered twice daily, Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tours take approximately two hours. All tours begin at the park headquarters office. Tour space is extremely limited. It is best to reserve in advance. Reservations for the summer season can be made beginning April 7. Directions
Park headquarters is located on the south side of Exit 131 off I-90 and sits beside the BP gas station. The Launch Control Facility Delta-01 is 4 miles west of the headquarters. Launch Facility Delta-09 (missile silo) is located south of I-90 just off Exit 116. It is approximately 15 miles west of park headquarters.
Facilities
The visitor contact station is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It includes exhibits and a park orientation video which places the Minuteman in historic context.
Tours of the Launch Control Facility, Delta-01 and Launch Facility Delta-09 are given. Launch Facility Delta-09 (the missile silo) is open Monday through Friday mornings (Memorial Day-Labor Day) from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. to all visitors. A ranger will be stationed on-site to provide interpretation and answer questions.
Services
Food, gas, lodging and camping are also available in the gateway communities of Interior, Kadoka, Wall and Badlands National Park.
Summer Open Houses
The park will offer an open house every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. during the summer. (The dates of these are May 20, 27; June 3, 10, 17, 24; July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; August 12, 19, 26. (There will not be an Open House on August 5.) During each Open House, all visitors will get a tour of Delta-01 (on a first-come, first-serve basis), including the underground Launch Control Center. The missile silo at Delta-09 will also be open to visitors during the Open Houses.
