Where to Ski in the Black Hills

Terry Peak Ski Area holds the title of South Dakota’s largest ski area, with over 25 trails, 600 acres of skiable terrain, three high-speed quad detachable chairlifts, a triple chairlift and the snow carpet. The summit clocks in at 7,100 feet, offering the highest lift service on this side of the Rocky Mountains.

The resort offers a full slate of services and amenities, including lessons and equipment rental. Terry Peak’s open slopes and million-dollar views will keep you coming back for more.

Black Hills Ski Season

The ski season in the Black Hills varies based on weather but typically starts at the beginning of December. Expect chilly winds, fresh snowfall and occasional sub-zero temperatures during the winter months.

The Northern Hills see an average of 150 inches of snow per season and snowmaking systems help establish a solid base on the terrain, providing lots of great opportunities to ride.
