Seven (7) days a week, mid-May through October, we offer our original cowboy dinner followed by our Cowboy Music Variety Show. We welcome you, your family, and groups of any kind, including bus tours, international travelers, family reunions seeking a western experience with good food, and family fun for everyone.
Arrive around 5:00 PM to get your tickets and have time to browse the Dances With Wolves film set and the Fort Hays Workshops.
6:30 PM - Supper Bell rings loud calling all cowboys and cowgirls to bring their appetites for: Sliced Beef simmered in mild BBQ sauce • Baked Chicken Chuckwagon Potatoes • Western Baked Beans • Ranch Biscuits & Honey Chunky Applesauce • Old-fashion Spice Cake • Cowboy Coffee or Tenderfoot Lemonade
We serve up the best Chuckwagon MENU in the west that's sure to make your mouth water. Its all served on homemade tin plates with drinks poured into tin cups. Be careful, the coffee is hot!
7:15 PM to 8:15 PM - Fort Hays Wranglers take the stage to entertain you with the Black Hills most popular western music variety show! You will have a Hand Clappin’, Toe Tappin’,Foot Stompin’, Belly Shakin’ Laughter of a great time! Family Fun For Everyone! Bring your camera and take some pictures. Mount Rushmore Tours
Every day from mid-May through mid-October our sightseeing tour package starts at Fort Hays Chuckwagon Dances with Wolves Film Set.
The tour departs and winds its way to places like Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Needles Highway & Needles Eye Tunnel, Sylvan Lake and Crazy Horse, stopping for pictures of buffalo, big horn sheep and other wildlife along the way. Everyone gets an education and a belly full of laughs from our tour driver/guides as you spend the day traveling over 100 miles through the Black Hills national forest and ends by returning to Fort Hays.
Cost for Tour only is $54.00 Adult; $27.00 Children ages 5-12; Free Children 4 and under (lap only - no seat provided).
