Miner Brewing Company invites craft beer lovers and music fans to enjoy a raucous evening in the Tap Room on Saturday, Nov. 11, as part of the brewery’s fourth anniversary celebrations. Sissy Brown and JonEmery Dodds will co-headline a free Miner Brewing Music Series performance, opened by local musician Aaron Vidal.

Hailing from Oklahoma and currently residing in Kansas City (with stops in Spokane, Los Angeles, and Austin along the way), Sissy Brown is a classically trained singer whose music has progressively drifted back to the honky-tonk and outlaw country of her Midwestern roots. Since moving to Kansas City, she has released several demos and is in the process of recording her first full-length album.

JonEmery Dodds is a nationally touring songwriter based out of the Capital Valley of Northern California. His music blends the sounds of country, blues, folk, cow-punk and rock together with familiar motifs such as highways, hangovers, and heartaches and just a touch of humor to create his own rudimentary style of American roots music. With a handful of self released albums under his belt, he is proving to be a maverick of the independent Americana music scene.

Opening performer Aaron Vidal grew up in Rapid City and has been playing and performing music for most of his life. As a teenager, he reluctantly moved from behind the drumkit to the front of the stage, where he found a love for singing and songwriting that he has been nurturing for more than a decade since. He draws inspiration from a wide assortment of genres, including, pop, R&B, classic rock, punk, and soul.

Saturday’s free musical performance isn’t the only thing to mark Miner Brewing Company’s fourth anniversary. The weekend will mark the special re-release of Miner Mutt, the brewery’s first beer. The Tap Room will also host a free evening of Beer & Bingo from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12.
