The ATV trails in the Black Hills are managed by the Black Hills National Forest Service. Visit their web site to get more info and to download maps. If you are bringing your own machine, you'll need to purchase a permit from the Forest Service by either going online or visiting one of their offices while you're here. The nearest office is at Lake Pactola, 18 miles from Mystic Hills, or as you come through Rapid City you can stop at the Black Hills Visitor and Information Center at 1851 Discovery Circle, near the I-90 Flying J exit.

ATVs are permitted on the roadways in South Dakota, however you do need a license plate and your machine needs to be "road ready." You can learn more about what that means and how to purchase a temporary license plate by downloading this info sheet from the Lawrence County Treasurer's Office in Deadwood.

Find us south of Deadwood 10 miles on Highway 385. Look for the blue highway signs marking Mystic Hills and Black Hills Off Road Rentals. A right hand turn if you're coming from Deadwood and we are 1/4 mile off the road. When you reach the first fork, you'll veer right.

From Highway 44, head north on 385 for 14 miles, past Roubaix Lake, and then look for the blue highway signs marking our entrance. It'll be a left turn (west) into the driveway.
